Endorses City Attorney Charles Parkin


Long Beach,CA-- Hon. Don Knabe, Los Angeles County Supervisor-Fourth

District, announced his endorsement today of Charles Parkin for Long Beach City

Attorney. Knabe joins a growing list of elected public officials and community

leaders to have endorsed Parkin, which include: former Long Beach Mayor

Beverly O’Neill, former California Governor George Deukmejian, Councilmember

Gary Delong, Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey, former Los

Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley, as well as the Long Beach Police

Officers Association, the Long Beach Firefighters Association, the Long Beach

Chamber of Commerce, and the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor among

many others.


“Charlie has earned my endorsement because of his commitment to improving the

quality of life in all neighborhoods of Long Beach. Throughout his nineteen-years

of practicing municipal law, he has earned the trust of a wide variety of community

stakeholders, such as those representing the business community and the labor

community,” Supervisor Knabe said.


“It is a great honor to have Supervisor Knabe’s endorsement,” Parkin commented.

“From his days as a City of Cerritos Councilmember, to his eighteen years of

valuable service on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, Don has been

a champion of the people.”


Parkin joined the City Attorney’s office in 1995 as a Deputy in Litigation after

serving in the Long Beach Department of Oil Properties. Since joining the City

Attorney’s office, Parkin has held the positions of Deputy City Attorney, Principal

Deputy and Assistant City Attorney. The Long Beach City Council appointed

Parkin full-time City Attorney in July of 2013.
