Councilman Gary DeLong Endorses City Attorney Charles Parkin

“Charlie and his office have made significant contributions to improve the quality of life for all Long Beach residents,” DeLong said. “He understands how important it is for the City Attorney’s office to work closely with the City Prosecutor, Police Department, and the community to develop a proactive approach to increase neighborhood safety. The City’s current 41-year low crime rate is evidence of this successful approach, and Charlie Parkin is the only candidate with the experience and qualifications to keep our city on the right path.”

“I am proud to have Gary’s endorsement. He has the best interests of Long Beach residents and taxpayers when making decisions on the City Council,” Parkin said. “He knows our city budget must reflect current economic realities, and plan responsibly for the future.”

Parkin joined the City Attorney’s office in 1995 as a Deputy Attorney in Litigation after serving in the Long Beach Department of Oil Properties. Since joining the City Attorney’s office, Parkin has held the positions of Deputy City Attorney, Principal Deputy and Assistant City Attorney. The Long Beach City Council appointed Parkin full-time City Attorney in July of 2013.
